How to mix sporty pieces into your classic wardrobe

"I just feel my best if I have some kind of high heels on"

My style has never been really sporty or casual although I love sporty clothing on other people, especially on guys. But for me I just feel my best if I have some kind of high heels on and a skirt or dress to give me that extra nice hourglass shape. But I always had hobbies which were pretty athletic, I almost tried every sport there is to be honest, where on first place will always be hip hop dancing and on the last definitely being horse riding - gosh I hated it (I should write an own post about my 5 best and 5 worst hobbies, I'd have a lot to write. Trust me). So naturally I collected a lot of sports clothes over the years. Most of them I wear for dancing or to the gym but there are a few beloved pieces I like to wear properly once in a while.

"The iconic three stripes, the logo, I can't help but love it."

When it comes to finding stylish but high quality pieces I always tend to end up in an Adidas Originals store. Not only do I really like the materials and the modern silhouettes, I also just have to admit that I am a little sucker for branding. And, come on, Adidas really nailed their branding. The iconic three stripes, the logo, I can't help but love it. I find their simple tops and sweaters extremely easy to dress up when needed. It is something I miss with other sports brands (Post is not sponsored - I swear. Honestly, Adidas please sponsor me now). Also almost every sneaker I own is an Adidas one. For dancing I really like some high-tops, for fitness I have a pair of NMD_R2 in white and for casual daywear I love the same pair in black and some Stan Smith's.

"Sporty clothes do fit really nicely into a classic style, but only if you don't overdo it."

So to tie in your sporty pieces into your classic wardrobe, you just need to imagine one simple thing. Think about an outfit you would normally wear. Got it? Great! Now change one (but just one) classic thing to a sporty one. It is my simple formula, but it works every time. A few weeks ago I did the exact same thing. I was going for a look with a pink-ish ruffle blouse and a long wool skirt but I teamed it with my Adidas NMD_R2 sneakers instead of any kind of black high heel, as I normally would. And it worked perfectly (if I do say so myself). I personally think sporty clothes do fit really nicely into a classic style in general, but only if you don't overdo it. So my black Adidas hoodie looks best in contrast with red lips and high heels. Also my Métis and my beloved Paul Costelloe coat are like clothing chameleons - they go with everything!

And on a quick note: I got this new pair of jeans from Wrangler. They are my first blue ones (wooooohooo). It is always hella complicated to find a good fit in jeans for me, because I have a lot of ass wide waist but in proportion a relatively small waist. So it was like the eighth world wonder when I found this gem. And it was on sale as well - lucky me! I want to say sorry in advance: You will see them A LOT in the next weeks. Not like Métis a lot, but still.
